It is just incredible to realize that America's favorite family, The Simpsons, are going to have their own STAMPS! In 1989 who would have ever imagined this happening?!?!I'm a nerd for commemmorative stamps anyway--and the chance to use The Simpsons stamps is fantastic! I almost feel like getting my old stamp collection out of the attic. Say what you will about the USPS--but they definitely scored a HOMER with this one.
Go visit the US Postal Service to get details and to order the stamps and lots of other goodies.

For decades the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania have been trying - unsuccessfully - to get a stamp honoring the coal miners who gave their sweat, health, and lives to mine the coal that fueled theis nation throughout the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Every time Elvis, Bugs Bunny, or pretty much anyone else of lesser significance is honored with a stamp, it's just another humiliating kick in the face, reminding us that the sacrifices of our grandparents and great-grandparents are less important than some entertainer or cartoon.

It sure doesn't seem right, does it? Who knows, maybe some day they will get the stamp. I don't know if stamps are like getting a star on Hollywood Blvd..because there it's basically all about the $$$, and if you have it you get the star.

Jeanna--I don't think they are available just yet. I think it will be after the rate increase on 5/1.
The giclees are gonna look great in my Simpsons shrine! I still can't believe it.
