....there are lots of yummy strawberries.Something else that makes me realize that spring is here is the *ting* of the aluminum bats being used at the park on the next block.

Let me explain.
The term bubbler is a quintessential Milwaukee thing. A bubbler is what the rest of the world (except Rhode Island, parts of Connecticut and the Boston area) would call a drinking fountain. The Yoopers also use it, but we all know they are just Wisconsin wannabees anyway.
When I first moved to California, I would use the term and get blank stares in response. The world was a much smaller place then and I had no clue that bubbler was just a regional colloquialism.
I use it as the title of my blog as a way to connect with those that know what it means and hopefully interest those that don't.

I started the lamb this weekend....looking good!
You know it's spring in Madison when the Dane County Farmers' Market is once again open on the Capitol Square. Saturday, April 18th is the first market of the year.
Of course you also know it's spring in Wisconsin because that's the start of [road] construction season.
Yay for strawberries! :)
Yesterday I had a spinach salad with strawberries, sliced honey-roasted almonds, and strawberry vinagrette...sooo yummy! :)
Nadine--one of these days I have to get to that famous Madison Farmers' Market. I've heard so much good stuff about it.
