Accordion Advent Calendar

The fine folks over at Let's Polka have come up with a cool holiday activity--An  Accordion Advent Calendar! Every day for twenty-five days they will post an mp3 of something accordion. That's like getting a little gift each and every day!
That reminds me...I need to load up the iPod with some Xmas selections. My co-workers (men) were already playing Xmas music today. They have some pretty lame selections, so I'll totally impress them with my Frankie Yankovic and Esquivel CD's for sure!

My Advent is light the purple & pink candles with a "Reading". " Tradition ", hugs

Oh my goodness! That is so wonderful! I can't wait to get home and have internet strong enough to download mp3s! I love accordion music and polka. (I even taught some of my friends in Zambia how to polka and play sheepshead.)
Thanks for the info!

GR--Let's Polka is a great little site. Lots of info..and not just polka, but pretty much anything accordion. They turned me on to a bunch of good bands.
Hopefully soon I will be "reviewing" the polka documentary DVD I just got.
Sheepshead--I never did learn that. My folks only played cribbage (which I forgot how to play).
MHP--I'm glad you liked it! There must be 1000 places in CHI to go listen to polka.

Sheepshead is great fun. There's a good teaching book out there that even says, "did you move away from WI and now you can't find anybody to play Sheepshead with?"
Cribbage is also a staple game, though. When my little sister was 5 we went to the fireworks with our deck of cards. I asked her if she wanted to play Go Fish. She said, "I don't know how. Can we play cribbage?" :)

Denis--glad you enjoyed it!

GR--see, the thing about cribbage is there is too much math involved. Also, cribbage playing is usually accompanied by beer drinking and my math skills (what little I have) suffer greatly when beer is involved. Which is pretty sad since my sis just gave me a cool Packers cribbage board and cards.
