Should I Or Shouldn't I?

So, I was doing a little holiday decorating here at Fartwood Manor: a couple of candles, a plush elf, a jingle bell wreath. The plan is to purchase the Christmas tree next Saturday and then decorate it on Sunday.
But now I've got a dilemma--do I use the Brett Favre ornament or not? Is it a piece of history that still deserves a place with the other ornaments or is it bitter reminder of a sad experience? Dale suggested just using a little white paint and change the 4 to a 12.
What do you think I should do?

I would put it up as is, as a reminder of better days...:(

I say leave it-historical value. A true Packer fan would have her new #12 already purchased.....love, your sis

OK ladies...(how come only women responded?!?!), Brett will "hang" on the tree--maybe towards the back though ;)

Good suggestion Andi--this was a Hallmark one, and I think they only use famous athletes, so I may have to wait for a #12.

I don't know why on EARTH you'd want to put up ANY Packers ornaments in the first place! *grin*

Mary,
I would carefully and tenderly box the ornament and put it away for future generations to enjoy. And I agree with Miss Pants. Sports ornaments should never be hung on a Christmas tree. Christmas is about the little baby Jesus. In fact, maybe you could include Brett somewhere with the 3 wise men around your Nativity Set.

MHP--I got some Packers glass "candy canes" this year--they are so cool!
MeesterCranky--so are you saying I am not a true Packer fan?!?!
Doug--You were missing one small piece of information: Miss Pants is a BEARS FAN, so of course *she* wouldn't have Packer ornaments!
My folks got me this real modern-type nativity set--just JMJ and no wise men. I'm sure I'll find a place for Brett somewhere.
